Welcome a-Board!

I’ve joined, by their request, the Board of Directors for the Mission Critical Global Alliance as of February 2025.

I will join a team of industry pros in the Mission Critical industry (data centers, utilities, manufacturing, telecom, defense, transportation, etc.). The US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) calls this “critical infrastructure” and there are 16 sectors that cover all of the technical systems that maintain the standard of living you have if you are reading this post. Other countries around the world may categorize these systems differently than DHS, but they have these systems nonetheless.

MCGA provides expertise in advocacy, skills standards development, education, research, workforce development, and professional certifications while coordinating and unifying the work of members engaged in the advancement and protection of #missioncritical operations (#MCO) and infrastructure around the world.

This follows on the path started when I was co-Principle Investigator/co-Manager of a $23M+ US Department of Labor (DoL) grant in 2013 to bring the world of mission critical operations into the worlds of both academia (there is now a college degree in MCO) and professional certification (now you can get letters after your name on your business card for MCO).

I’m excited to start this new role and hope to help spread the news about the mission-critical mission critical industry that we all enjoy every day, even if we don’t think about it.
